Feel the Bern: We Will if he is President.

I will handle this as points (P) with a counterpoint (CP) as a response.

P: Income inequality is somehow immoral and proof that some succeed only at the expense of others.

CP: 1st, economics is not a zero sum game. It is not a standard 8 slice pie where if 7 pieces are “eaten” there is only one left for everyone else. In FACT, when one person gets a bigger slice of the pie, they often create new pies by paying people to do things they used to do for themselves, buy new products and services and generally stimulate the economy by not just HAVING more money but by USING it, through spending, investment and charity all of which HELPS the general welfare. To keep it SIMPLE; A rising tide lifts ALL boats. 2nd, in highly impoverished areas like Africa, the gap between the rich and the poor is much smaller than it is in America. Unfortunately, this is because the overall standard of living is lower for ALL of the people in Africa on average. Our poor live like royalty in many other countries.

P: “Free” college can help alleviate the income gap and inequality between the haves and have-nots.

CP: There is no such thing as free. Someone WILL be paying for it and no one talks about how we can afford it. Free and state controlled education has always been a dream of Socialists. Libertarian Isabel Patterson wrote “A tax-supported, compulsory educational system is the complete model of the totalitarian state.” Plus, as previously shown, income inequality is not in itself wrong. TRUE income equality could only be achieved by driving ALL people into poverty and how could it be otherwise considering my response to the net point?

P: Bernie talks about making the “Milyuh nairs and Bilyuh nairs” pay their fair share by proposing a 90% tax rate for the richest in our society.

CP: To be in the top 1% of earners, one need only earn around $340,000 a year. That “sounds” like a lot, doesn’t it? Now let’s imagine taking 90%. That leaves this person or family with 30,600 after taxes! How is that “fair”? More to the point, what incentive would anyone have to succeed if it only meant that they would be stripped of their income and property for doing so? This is why former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher famously quipped, “The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.”

P: We should raise the minimum wage so that all people earn a living wage.

CP: This is, absolutely impossible. IF, we ‘raise” the wage, then, every product and service will cost more. Meaning that everyone ends up exactly where they were before, if not in an even worse spot. Many people will lose their jobs if employers are forced to pay more. This also ignores the issues with welfare benefits and hours. People who now earn more will lose other benefits etc. Simply put, Government DOESN’T care about solving problems; they only care about keeping power and expanding government.

Coincidentally, there isn’t a SINGLE policy or idea that Bernie has that doesn’t require the creation or expansion of some new government legislation, regulation, agency or bureaucracy. Asking government to solve problems they themselves made or exacerbated is like asking a convicted rapist to help you carry groceries into your apartment while you’re drunk and naked. Why a rape analogy? Look it up. Bernie once wrote that men fantasize about abusing women and that women also fantasize about being gang raped! Imagine if ANY republican had ever written such a thing!

P: “Climate change (Global Warming) is the single greatest threat facing our planet.” Taken from the Bernie Sanders website! https://berniesanders.com/issues/climate-change/

CP: EVEN if GW were real which many doubt, there is NO way that it is a greater threat than Islamic terror. Was it Global Warming that killed all the people in Paris and San Bernardino? I don’t think so.

P: Global warming is a contributing factor to Islamic Terror.

CP: Then why are there no Jews or Christians engaging in terror who live in the same regions?

The Bottom line is Bernie Sanders is a Democratic Socialist by his own admission. This means that he believes that Government can and should not take over industry completely as a full Communist might. Instead, they purport to be able to make Socialism work by allowing businesses to function and compete up to a point while the government pulls all the strings of regulations and taxes the hell out of them to pay for more government programs. Just as is true of individuals who are taxed at 90%, many if not most, companies would likewise cease to be productive. Many would cease to make a profit and shut down. No profit also equals no tax revenue by the way. Democratic Socialism IS still Socialism and it is STILL at the point of a gun. Don’t believe it? Don’t pay your taxes and watch what happens.

People like Bernie Sanders always think that Socialist ideas haven’t worked only because the “right” people haven’t been in charge and they ALWAYS think that they’re the “right” person. Just like President Obama, Bernie and people like him, think that THEY know how best to run government and all our lives.

This is not fairness, this is not equality this is the TYRANNY of Liberal busy bodies who wish to control all of us.

I have tried to keep this as brief as possible but not every point or counterpoint will fit on a bumper sticker that kind of simplicity is actually what leads people to support people like this. Remember “Hope and Change”? How has that worked out for most of America?
