What DOES The Bible Say About Judging?

Affordable Webhosting!

I will be adding to this and editing it; but just quickly, the Bible does NOT teach that we are not to judge anything. That is one of the best lies ever told to weaken Christians. You can’t stand up against ANYTHING because then you are judging! First a couple pieces of Scripture…

Matthew 7
1Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

Romans 2
1Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

2But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

3And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

With just a little bit of effort one can clearly see that we all make judgments EVERY day. The Bibles command and God’s expectation of us is that we “Judge Rightly” and that we be not hypocrites guilty of the same or worse sins. When a person “judges” a man who cheats on his spouse, or a homosexual who is active, they are not actually judging….GOD has already pronounced the judgment. The effort to silence Christians is actually an effort to silence GOD in the area of public opinion.

The Bible says OVER and over again that we ARE to judge!

John 7:24 24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

1 Corinthians 6
1Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

2Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

3Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

4If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

5I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

6But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

It is really sad and a testament to the ignorance of people today to the Bible that so many people fall for this. Let me give you an example…

Did you know that the Bible says “There is no God”? YES, it does…Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Do you see what I did there? ANY scripture taken out of context is merely a pretext. Usually to perversions of sound Biblical doctrine. This is EXACTLY what the “Do Not Judge” people have done. The verses that say not to judge don’t exist all alone. You will never hear that from them though!

A discussion on homosexual “marriage” raised a point that I need to touch on. While we absolutely DO have a responsibility and authority to judge and condemn a persons SIN, we have no authority to wish ourselves the arbiter of their faith or act as a judge or executioner. We need to understand that we are ALL of us sinners and that our prayers, hope and work should be towards seeing lost people repent, accept Jesus and try to live lives that serve and please him!
